My name is Mike & I am from DFW Texas.I have been lurking in shadows soaking up a ton of great info in these forums for a while now.  I thank you all for your info!  I thought it was about time that I officially introduced myself.  I am looking forward to cooking up some of the great stuff I learned about here.

Welcome Mike, I too am new to smoking, in fact I've got the first one going now. There is alot of info here and everyone seems awful nice.   Mike

Mike, glad to have ya here at SMF. What type of smoker are you using? We're here to help, and looking forward to your future posts and qvue!

First off welcome Mike to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are alot of really good folks that would just love to help you with anything to do with smoking. Now we like having new folks here to give a new prospective on some of the ways we do things around here. Now if you are really new then I would suggest that you sign up fir the 5-day E-course it free and it will give you the basics on smoking and a few recipes too. Here's a link to it:

http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/list/127

then you will have a method to your newly found madness and believe me it will be a madness. Then when you start smoking things you will have to learn how to post the pictures / Qview

here. So here's a link to a tutorial on how to post your Qview so we can see what your doing.

 http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/thread/82034/how-to-post-qview-to-smf

Now the next thing you have to do is run out and get something to smoke. Then just smoke it and if you have any questions just post  them here and we will answer all your questions that you might have. Oh yea there's no stupid questions we were all there in the beginning and we just really like to help others enjoy the fabulous smoked foods that we do. So again

Welcome to Your New Addiction

Howdy neighbor,

 Welcome to your new addiction!

My DIL is from North Richland Hills over your way.

Ate at a couple of q joints when we were over there and if you can Q half as good as them lil hole in the wall places you are smokin.

Thanks yall.  The qview is coming.  I have been using an inexpensive New Braunfels "Hondo" smoker for the past 5 or 6 years.  Being from Texas, I smoke a ton of brisket but have gotten very excited about all the other great stuff I have learned so far on here.  I am very excited about making my first Fattie!  My cardiologist will probably not be to happy about it though HAA HAA.

Thanks again yall,

Mike

Welcome to SMF, BigScooter, we're looking forward to that qview of your first fattie..  And your cardiologist will more likely be putting a down payment on his new Harley (or lake home, or deer lease, etc.) that he was wondering where he was going to get the money for.
