Name is JoJo, online handle is slugdog...  I was born in Tennessee, raised in Alabama {ROLL TIDE!!!}, and now live in Texas.  I learned how to barbecue from my Dad, starting in '58.  He always used a cast aluminum grill, which I used once I was on my own, graduated to an offset horizontal, which I used for years, until my brother-in-law gave me a Masterbuilt digital.

Best thing for bbq since God created hickory!  I was weaned on Boston Butts and pork ribs, but quit eating pork around '98, so now it's everything else.  My Grandfather, from North Carolina, developed a vinegar based basting/bbq sauce around 1900, pasted it to my Dad, who passed it to me.  I use the basting sauce to mop my meat, leaving about 1/2 inch to make my bbq sauce with.  Everyone loves it.  I have to drink beer when I cook, as I'm not sure I could bbq without it...  Got a Grand-daughter's birthday coming up this next weekend, will have about 11 kin here, and gonna do Jeff's chuck roast burnt ends.  I'll prepare by having a few beers each day til then {I'm retired}.
