My name is Kerrie and I live in a small town just north of Chattanooga, TN. Born and raised here my entire life. I'm a huge foodie and have been cooking for years for my husband and daughter (who just turned 16). Luckily, they will eat anything once and we are all excited about my new MES that my parents got ME for Christmas...not my husband :) When I say I'm the cook I mean the cook in the kitchen and outdoors. My husband just loves to eat and we agreed when we married if I cook it then he cleans it..it's been a good marriage :)

By day I work for a statewide insurance company doing case management (I am a registered nurse). Thankfully I get to work from home and so I can smoke while I work :)

This summer I got a Webber grille and have really enjoyed using it so I'm thrilled to have the MES now. From the advice of a family friend I decided to give it a go. I've already got friends asking me to smoke them some sausage..

I have a freezer full of venison that I'm anxious to try out. I bought Jeff's cookbook and have read through it and am really excited about smoking a duck. I'm planning to put the smoker together today and season it over the weekend so I can smoke something for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Been reading through lots of posts here and watching tons of you tube videos. I can't wait to try this out!!

Happy New Year!!

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.   Get to know your smoker, cook a few times before the big day. Chicken is easy and cheap. Good Luck
