Hello all,  new to this forum.  Recently cashed in some Lowes gift cards received for Christamas and got a Masterbuilt electric smoker.

I had a kettle type charcoal smoker from Cabelas years ago and never had much luck with it.  Always too hot or cold and I had no information in that long ago time of pre-internet.

I already smoked a whole chicken with some pre-packaged dry rub from the grocery store.   It was pretty good but I quickly found this site and I'm excited to get going.    I'm anxious to try Jeff's rub and brining.  In fact I mixed up a batch of his rub today.

Last year I bought a small grinder and made sausages and burger from a nice deer I got.  It was a no-brainer to get a smoker and at this point, I believe I'll like the ease and convenience of the electric.  I'm ready to try some Summer sausage, snack sticks and smoked Italians and brats.   Also excited to try some ribs asap!

So again, Hi from NC!
