Hi all,

I been lurking around the forums for some time now and trying to learn as much as possible and figure I finally say hi to everyone.

I am up in Redmond WA, area and have had a few successful attempts with ribs, but still learning. I am currently using a char-broil silver smoker, not the best one, but its what I have.

One thing with this smoker, it never came with a temp gauge, any recommendations for a gauge for this grill?

Any suggestions or tips for improving it would be appreciated.

Hi new guy from PNW!
there are a lot of mods you will find in here for your que..start with the charcoal basket and move up from there...as far as thermo's there are a ton of different kinds, mine has an alarm if the temp gets to high or low. You really need one for the inside of the smoker as well as an instant read for your meat!
Welcome and happy smokes!

Welcome to SMF you'll find lots of good info around here. Personally i use a digital thermometer for smoker temp as well as more for meat temp. The cheapo ones that come on most smokers aren't correct anyhow so you ain't missing much without it
