Hi - I'm Mike and I live in Northern Virginia, about an hour from DC. I've been grilling for almost as long as I can remember and I started "Smoking" about 3 years ago on a duct tape and bailing wire makeshift mod for a Webber Genesis propane grill. My meats came out tasty but I always felt that I was missing something. I've been researching and hemming and hawing over getting a "Big Boy" Smoker for about a year and I finally settled on a Brinkmann Trailmaster LE as an early Fathers Day present from my Wife. (Thanks honey!)

I've already added mods to the grill while putting it together and after the first smoke I ordered a deflector and tuning plates. I can see that this is going to be a fun tinkering hobby. My son has gotten into the act and we're having a lot of fun.

I love nothing more than a weekend long cook of any kind. When I make my own tomato sauce it's a all weekend adventure. This will take up the weekends that I'm not making sauce, but now that I think about it... Smoked Sauce? Hmmmm. I'll have to think about that.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
