We have been smoking with a gen 1 masterbuilt for a few years now.

What I like about my masterbuilt  is that it is all stainless steel.

The Masterbuilts electronic have been nothing but one problem after another.

First problem  bad connections on the heaters.

Next all the solder connections on the control board were bad but they were incased in rubber . I had to scrap off all the rubber before I could clean them up.

Then it was the same problem with rubber coated power supply board.

I think the board problem is because they used the earliest type lead free solder.

At this point I am on round 3 of resoldering the control board and I tired of fixing  the masterbuilt board.

Now I need to decide if I will buy a new smoker or install an industrial controller in the old Masterbuilt.
