Hello. I live in St. Louis and am here to find out what type of smoker I should purchase. I am only interested in electric smokers and am currently eyeing the new masterbuilt 40 with the window and rf controller. But that is not set in stone as I am a complete amateur to smoking and am willing to hear what is better. I've done a moderate amount of research just on the Internet about different electric smokers and the majority of site recommend the masterbuilt. I was also interested in the Bradley and haven't completely ruled it out. Also after I find the right smoker I would like to find the right modifications to make it near perfect. I am willing to any suggestions and am not here to get into some weird Internet argument about religion or politics or anything else. By the way I work on an ambulance if anybody is actually interested in that part. Sorry to be long winded. Thanks for reading.

Welcome aboard, mwadlow!  Glad you joined us.  You've found a great place to learn and share ideas.  Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Just ask when you need help and you'll get plenty.

As far as electric smokers are concerned, I can't speak about Bradleys, but I own an MES40, and have used it for many. many great smokes.  Mine is a first genration, I've heard there are some issues with the 2nd generation MES, so before purchasing you might want to research that in the Electric forum.  Good luck, and let us know what you choose...
