Hi everyone,

I've been aware of this forum for a year or so, but haven't done much smoking yet. About a week before the 4th of July, my wife suggested that I try smoking something, so I did some ribs. They turned out so good that I've decided I have to make this a more regular event.

I've got an ECB that I got for free a couple of years ago. Now I want to get a WSM. I thought about getting a propane or electric smoker, but charcoal just seems like the way to go.

Anyway, I've already learned a lot from this forum and plan to be here regularly - at least when it isn't snowing.

Regards,

Jeff

Welcome to the smf jerick!! Unfortunately or fortunately for you your new addiction will have you smoking food rain, snow, sleet or hail. You wont be able to use that as an excuse for not smoking!

Welcome Jeff. I'm a newbie too but got addicted after my first smoke. (ribs, of course). One bite, and I knew that I could make ribs better than anywhere I was buying them...and it's fun!....and cheaper than buying vintage guitars...lol Use the chatrooms too... there is almost always somebody in there that can get you through something that you are not sure about. "ON DEMAND PROFESSIONAL HELP"...how cool is that? Enjoy your new addiction!

Hi Jerich, Welcome to SMF, another neighbor close by, Did you sign up for Jeff's 5 Day E-Mail course, it is infomative, and will get you started on great smoke-outs. If you can buy his sauce and rub recipe it supports the site and you can alter it to your liking, you won't go wrong, I have been there

Greetings!
Another one bites the dust!! soon you will be shooting pictures of your food, your friends will abandon you, until they smell the smoke...
Happy smokes!
