Hey everyone!

Just saying hi to everyone on this forum. I'm 17 from Ontario, Canada and am a huge fan of all things meat!

I joined because I finally want to learn to do some REAL bbq after putting it off for so long. Never done any smoking myself, but I've got some cooking experience working with my dad around the house and in his restaurants and food stores (grilling, baking, preparing food, etc)

Currently I don't have a smoker, but I'm lookin at getting the Weber Bulet smoker for starters just to see how things go.

Lookin forward to learning more about BBQ!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I am completely new to smoking so I have signed up for the e-course, all seems good so far. I've been reading up on all the acronyms and terms you use here so I'll be sure to put up some Qview with my first attempt at smoking.

Any advice on what to try first after the course? Or wil it cover that?

Welcome to the group...You will learn a bunch there is a lot of great advice to be found. I have only smoked one time last week using the WSM...Turned out awsome.

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. As for what to smoke first if you want a fairly short smoke go with chicken if you want to to spend the time then go with a pork butt. Both are very good if you want you could do both put them both on in the morning and have the chicken for lunch and wait on the butt for a late dinner. You could also do a fatty for a snack put it on about the time you pull the chicken. All are fairly easy smokes and any or all would be a great first smoke. Oh as for the abbreviations hold your cursor over the abbreviation and it will tell you what it means
