Hello all.
I have a twin brother who's been smoking all sorts of meats for a few years now and I figured since we're twins, I'd better get on the band wagon. My family and I are sure glad I did as it's addicting and the food is so much better than using a gas grill, which I'll never use again.
I started by buying a big Masterbuilt charcoal barrel grill and over a couple months have smoked several racks of beef ribs, pork ribs and chickens. It's a great grill but only using half the grill surface due to keeping the meat off direct heat and also keeping the temp stable has proved challenging. Still produces mouth watering food though.
I was just appreciated for Father's Day by receiving a Bradely electric smoker. I guess my family really does love me.
Gonna do a whole chicken today with a proven Caribbean Jerk rub.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!
