Hey Everyone! My name's Jason Fant and I hail from Fuquay-Varina, NC, just south of Raleigh. I'm definitely a noob when it comes to smoking, in fact I just bought my first smoker this afternoon (A char-broil silver smoker). I've been lurking these forums for a few weeks now and it seems like a great place with great info and folks, so I'm looking forward to becoming a part of the community. I'm going to do a couple of the silver smoker mods and season the cooker tomorrow, and attempt my first smoke on Sunday (good ol' pork butt). I'll be sure to post some results, so wish me luck!

Welcome!!! Atleast you researched first ,then bought a smoker. I did it hte other way around. Bought smoker, then tried to figure out how to use it. One step ahead already

Welcome Jason! Like you I was a lurker for a while then bought a used smoker. This site is wonderful, in the short time I've been here I've gotten some great tips and everyoen here seems to want to help so don't be afraid to ask any question about smoking.
