Just join the forum yesterday, I am glade to find it. I have done some smoking in the last couple of years. I still need to learn a lot more. I've only smoked a few things, Turkey thighs and legs, pork ribs, small pork loin.

I have a "Brinkmann Gourmet" electric smoker. I will be ordering a MES 40" electric in the next couple of months. It has to warm up a bit before I can fire up.  I also have tried Dutch oven cooking which some stuff has turned to ashes. I hope to smoke some sausage this spring after I get the new smoker.

Unit last October my wife and  i did a lot of camping here in Minnesota, she had me sell the works.

Well I hope to here from some of you, I am glade to be here.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.

Welcome Beartoo!!

In case you haven't read a lot of posts on this forum yet, I will suggest since you are getting an MES 40, please be sure to get the Gen #1 MES 40. It is Awesome!! That is the one with the digital controls in a box that gets mounted to the back center of the top, and the vent is on the top back right corner. The one you should avoid (Gen #2) has the controls built into the top front edge of the smoker, and has the vent on the left side wall instead of on the top.

There is also a new one out, the Gen #2.5, but not very many review on it yet.
