Just signed on to the Forum and excited to enter into a new chapter in my life!

I am a newbie to smokers as I had acquired a WSM 18 a month ago.  I have been utterly amazed at the community of Weber smokers and how extensive and helpful the community has been (especially Harry Soo).  I am from Colorado but spend some time in Hawaii (hence my user name).  We have ideal outdoor cooking conditions for several months during the year, and I plan to take full advantage of that.

I have become a fan of TulsaJeff's creations, purchased his recipes for rubs and sauce (don't understand why he calls it "Texas Style" rub instead of "Okie-Rub" though.  The first time ever I used the smoker, the results were forgettable, even though our guests thought it was good.  The next two times I used the recipes from the SMF (the 3-2-1 for spare ribs and 2-2-1 for baby-backs), and the raves have gone through the roof!  I'm a big fan now.

The question I have at this time is what is the refrigerator "shelf life" of the BBQ sauce?  I made sure we had plenty, but I don't want it to spoil on me.

Thanks!

Maui Jim

Welcome from SC, Jim. I know you will enjoy this site and all of the folks that are always eager to share their ideas, tips, recipes and anything else that you may need. All you have to do is ask. As far as the sauce is concerned, the final answer will come from Jeff, but I keep mine in the fridge for months. I usually heat it up when it has been refridgerated. The trick to not having to store sauce or rub is to cook more often. I sure wish I could. Good luck and good smokin', Joe
