Hi everyone,

I've been poking around the forums the last week or so and wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Shawn Brandon and I live in Bakersfield, CA. I've been a novice smoker for six or eight years. Smoking a chicken or roast every now and again on my bbq or bullet smoker but never tried anything more.

I've always been interested in making sausage, bacon, ham etc and finally broke down and bought a real smoker so I can do some serious smoking.

Picked up the 38" King Kooker from Costco last week and am looking forward to all of the great food in my future.

Y'all have put together a ton of great information on the site. It helped me grind, stuff, and smoke my first sausage this past weekend. 20lbs of Andouille and it was awesome!!!!

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and learning all I can.

Welcome to the forum Shawn!

Welcome to SMF !!!
Chicken, roast and Andouille sausage; you do not qualify as a novice any longer. With that new smoker I will warn you, smoking is very addicting; but no one that eats your smokes will complain !!!

Welcome to SMF, Shawn! It sounds like you're already on your way to some great grub.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your smoking adventures.
