My better half Buck and I were given an electric smoker from a moving neighbor. We planned to sell it, but after ONE attempt, a successful beef rack of ribs, we were hooked. By the way, I never liked beef ribs until my version. Here it is nearly a year later and tonight I've got a 9 pound Boston Butt smoking in apple chips. Hope the family get together likes my contribution to dinner.

I delivered the smoked butt, went home with stomach problems. Both my brothers texted me with delicious reviews. Mom called today to say they (5) ate the whole thing minus enough for 2 sandwiches.I am still grinning. I know what it feels like to pull off a great smoked dinner as a beginner.

That's unfortunate that you missed the dinner.  Hope that you at least got one of the last sandwiches.

Sounds like your off to a good start with the smoking hobby.

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a pretty nice day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

And Congrats on getting hooked on smoking

Sounds like an addiction in the making! With most electric smokers, you can do a LOT more than meats! Nuts, fish, veggies, cheese, etc...

:welcome1: To the madness and the forums! I look forward to seeing some future cooks from you.
