Good morning everyone and Happy New Year!  I hope 2014 is AWESOME for all of you!

My best friend and I have been married for almost 30 years and have two girls, a son in law, a son in law to be and three grand babies.  Don't let the babies' mention in the last position fool you... they rule the roost!

I am a long time griller and have dabbled in smoking but more using very rudimentary knowledge of indirect heat in my beloved Weber Kettles.  I want to get more serious about smoking and have been absolutely amazed by the information on this site!  I feel like I am in the presence of masters of the craft and can't wait to learn from you.

I am located in Central Illinois and work for a major insurance carrier.  If you know anything about insurance, it will take you about 30 seconds to figure out which city!  As a hint, "What are you wearing, Jake from... ? ... She sounds hideous." "Well, she's a guy."  I have to admit that commercial still cracks me up!

I just bought a 40" Masterbuilt digital electric smoker and she is seasoned and ready to go.

I love having the opportunity to learn from each of you!  I can't wait!

Welcome aboard Wayne!  Congrats on that new MES!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
