Hi All,
My name is Ed and I joined the forums back in June to start reading up on smoking in preparation to moving to East Norriton, PA, which I happened last week. My new landlord was nice enough to let me have a charcoal grill outside (I opted for the Weber Master Touch 22") and I wanted to start making delicious foods! I had originally planned to have my first smoke last week right after moving in, but I ran into some problems with the HOA President, but I fixed them this past weekend and was able to do my first smoke yesterday(pictures below).
So here is my adventure to get my first smoke in. My landlord told me I could have my grill anywhere on my side of the sidewalk...the HOA president wasn't happy and sent me an extremely passive aggressive message telling me to move it and trim a hydrangea in front of my place. Seriously, I'm a renter and now she complains about the plant, which clearly has been growing for some time.
Since she was being a pain and she wanted my grill moved...I opted to kill two birds with one stone. So I cut it down, dug out the roots and put my grill over the spot.
She sat on her porch and watched me as I smoked two racks of spareribs, which turned out great
I dry rubbed and smoked them at around 250F with pecan wood for about 4 hours using the fire brick method. I would show you what they looked cut but I was too busy drinking beer and devouring them with my neighbors.
Thanks for reading,
Ed
