Hello, I'm Gary from Roaring Spring, Pa.  Just got my first gas smoker this winter.  Going to smoke my first product (boston butt for pulled pork). Trying to learn all I can about it.  Got some good info from here.  Thanks for letting me join.  SMOKE ON!!!

Hey Gary, welcome to SMF!  Good first choice for the inaugural run on the smoker because a Boston Butt is probably the most forgiving cut of meat you can smoke.  Rub it, throw it in the smoker, and forgetaboutit!  Read up on the forums for final internal temp and the poke test.  It will turn out awesome!  And don't be surprised if it tastes even better the next day.

Have fun!

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a cloudy and rainy day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
