Well I just started getting serious about smoking. My first rig was a Masterbuilt 40"electric upright smoker, tried a few things, chicken, ribs, pork loin. It works ok for the most part, I didnt like using the built it pan because it seemed to put out alot of creosote when the wood chips would initially hit the pan. So I picked up a Amazen pellet smoker which seemed to work pretty well. Still wasnt enough for me though. So I went and got me a 22" Weber kettle, I really like using that one alot. First of all you can sear on that grill, its hotter than my gas grill, when cooking indirect I got better results. I've done salmon, ribs, tri-tip, chicken, sausage, and some pork chops. Way better smoke penetration than on the Masterbuilt and better sear than on the gas grill. So now I've gotten the bug and now I need more cooking area so I went and purchased a COS Oklahoma Joe Longhorn. Waiting on my mod parts before I assemble. I'm learning as I go so I may have some noob questions. Glad to be a part of the group!
