I've actually been reading threads on here for awhile. Thought it was time to start joining in! Just got my WSM from amazon, about to start seasoning it pretty soon. Any suggestions on good meat scraps to throw on tomorrow after I burn all the factory gunk off? Stuff you can get at the regular grocery store would be a plus

Ps. Lemme know if I should relocate this question to a more appropriate thread

Welcome to SMF!

I would say chicken is a good meat for a first run.

Wings, thighs, leg quarters, or a whole chicken.

They are cheap & good for practice.

Welcome from SC. It's good to have you here on this great site. Chicken qtrs are always a good starter cook. Easy to do and inexpensive.

With the porceilin finish on a WSM, it's not really necessary to do a real seasoning.

Good luck and enjoy that chicken, Joe
