New to smoking, why it too me me so long to get around to it is beyond me. I've had the best smoked food from my father-in law (a true cajun) for the last 17 years so I never jumped into it myself. Over 5 years ago he gave me his old one a Stainless Steel Brinkmann Electric Smoke'N Grill Charcoal Smoker and Grill (sorry haven't learned the acronyms yet) which has sadly sat in my carport. I decided to pull it out and give it a go last week.

I am hooked! I took some flounder that I had in the freezer to test it out and it was awesome. Then I went on a mission to smoke everything I could, steaks, chicken, even hard boiled eggs turned into deviled eggs that were out of this world. He turned me on to Jeff's site which led me here. I am currently in South Eastern Alabama, been here about 11 years now. Lived in Florida for 20 years and grew up in Michigan.

Anyways I love this site, everyone is very helpful and patient answering the same questions over and over. Hope to upgrade the smoker to one of those nice ones with the glass and blue tooth soon!

Welcome from Michigan back. Always glad to see someone from this state. Even if you don't live here anymore. Good to see you made it here.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a beautiful  hot and humid day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
