Hello everyone. Josh and Jeff (nephew and uncle) here. We are amateurs and just finished fabricating our own somewhat electric smoker with the help of a friend. It is an old aluminum propane tank (60 gallon, give or take a few) set vertically on aluminum legs.

As of now, we are using a "fry daddy" seated in a hole in the bottom of the tank with the wood chips placed in the pot. There is also a vent in the top of the tank with the temperature gauge near the middle, next to the door. It holds a total of 3 racks.

As I said above, we are amateurs and open to helpful hints and tricks. Right now we are having trouble getting the heat above about 130 or so with only the wood chips in the fry daddy.

We're looking forward to gaining more knowledge and and trying new recipes!

Welcome Josh and Jeff......
