Hey there everyone.  My name is Chase and I am 30 years old.  I've been living in Las Vegas for a few years now and there just isn't enough bbq here!  I am a culinary graduate from the Culinary Institute of America.  I had big dreams of becoming a chef yet somehow I ended up becoming a manager at Starbucks.  Oh well.  I finally got a cheap smoker a few months ago and I've been playing with it a lot lately.  Its a Char-Griller.  One side is a charcoal smoker and the other is a gas grill.  It works for now until I can save up enough for a better smoker.  What do you guys think of pellet smokers?  I'm just wondering if I should bother considering getting one, or just keep with the thought of an offset, wood-burning smoker.

I'm excited that I've found this forum.  I'm eager to learn from all of you and hope that together we can all make some great bbq.

Hello and welcome Chase, from cold and snowy (today) NY.

Everyone has their own preferences in smokers.

Jump right out there into the forums and ask away.

There will be a lot of opinions all with good reasons

behind them.

Listen, then you will decide.

But mostly have fun with it.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a windy, warm and nice day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
