Hey name is Andy, go by HVACscoutdad cause I am a HVAC service tech, and work in wholesale for HVAC contractors (where the service techs get their parts and supplies to fix your furnac/ac equipment.  I am also active in scouts with my boys, which is where the dad part comes from.

I am in Purdue Country (Lafayette, IN USA), but am not a die hard purdue fan.   GO NOTRE DAME!!!!!  Unless its hocke then GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!

I just got a charbroil 430 smoker this past week from my wonderful wife as an anniversary gift and got it put together today.  Planning on christening it with pulled pork.

I also have a gas grill for normal meal use.  Some people harass me about using gas instead of charcoal until I explain the time factor of 4 boys with crazy schedules, and work schedules of myself and my wife.

I have already learned a lot from this site and plan on utilizing it every chance I get for techniques, ideas, and bragging.

Hope you all have a good day smoking and grilling.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a rainy and cool East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Just put my pork on the smoker for the day, taking pics at each stage to document.   Do I keep this thread going for the qview or start a new one in a different area?
