Hi my name is Paul. As you probably have gathered I am a fanatic of the jam band scene and particularly the band String Cheese Incident. I occasionally try my hand at bullriding. I smoke cigars quite frequently. My first meat smoking experience was around 3 years ago. I normally smoke ribs, sausage, and my favorite is bratwurst. Currently I am using a smoker I have made out of a stainless beer keg. I was hoping to BBQ this weekend but continuous rain kept me from doing that.

Welcome Paul. I am looking forward to you sharing your adventures. Please feel free also to ask questions and take any knowledge you desire from the friendly folks on the forum.

I will get pics for you sometime. It is basically an upside down beer keg with a stainless bowl on what was the top with a hole cut out to the size of the bowl to let the smoke through and what was the bottom cut off to place meat and the racks inside. But I plan on doing some work to it this summer, maybe adding an adjustable vent to it to control better and hopefully a more precise way of mounting the racks and measuring the temp.

Welcome String, hope you enjoy our collective experience with the fine art of Q. Where in Nebraska do you hail?

Welcome to SMF. Hope the weather changes for you. Unfortunatly for me, according to the weather guy here, when you get good weather this week, mine goes bad. Here's a trade for you, you get good weather, I get the beer keg cooker. Worth a shot.

Welcome Paul -

We have one requirement here. Next to your smoker you have to have a camera so you can take lots of pictures of your food we can drool over!
