Hiya,

Who here has a good way of getting the last of the sausage out of your stuffing tube at the end? So far, its been my finger, or a chop stick, and neither are all that effective. They don't affect the flavour of the frying pan reward, however.

I was thinking of cutting a number of different diameter wooden dowels, then sort of keeping them together with a zip tie, like a set of car keys or measuring spoons.

Cheers!

That is the answer you are looking for

Just make sure they get a good cleaning before putting them away.

What he said.^^ I forget who but one of the members here has a picture in his sig of his equipment and with it you see several wooden dowels just for that. Perhaps he will stumble on this thread and post.

Yep, dowels work well. Keep em coated with a light coat of mineral oil just as you would any other wooden kitchen utensil (knife handles, cutting boards, etc).

That's not an odd Question, but I do know one. "If a monkey bit you while traveling over a bridge, what kinda shot would they give for something like that?"

I have also used many differant kitchen untencil too but I have only found the one (a knife handle) I need for right now. Then with what you get out it you use it for the fry test and then you can see how the sausage is gonna taste.

If you purchase some Christmas Stollen bread from the store on Christmas Eve is it still considered stolen because you paid for it and didn't steal it?

If your girlfriend Ruth dumps you does that automatically make you a ruthless person?

If a person is called Ruth does that mean they are kind and considerate the opposite of ruthless.

PS the answer to your question about the meat grinder is to toss in a handfull of dry bread crumbs. This will clean out the last of the meat which you can use in the sausage. The bread will also partially clean the grinder making the rest of cleanup a snap.

My grandmother used to push bread through it to get the fat and sausage out. It seemed to work.

Rabies and tetnus shots for you and 44 magnum shots for the Monkey.....just a guess. ...... What did I win?

I think it would depend on the amount of poo he had flung prior to biting you!

Good questions all, Gnubee, as for the last, I have a dedicated hand crank stuffer, and its allergic to bread...must be that gluten thing that everyone's talking about....

I usually rinse it down the drain and forget about it but am thinking about using my air compressor. Just run a hose into the kitchen and cleaning it out. Then ask the wife if she would like to help me the next time.

LOL I hope you're joking Gary, who knows what's living in the compressor tank. I just dowel the tube out and hope for a small sample to fry

If you talking about a stuffer hooked to a grinder, I just put a couple diced raw potatoes down through and continue stuffing til I see potato coming out.

So you'd spank the Monkey with the spoon I get that part but the question was what kind of shot would you need?

I guess you'd take a large shot of Jack Daniels and then use the wooden spoon to spank your Monkey.

I keep coming up with these killer solutions............ but still no gifts have arrived in the mail.

You may need to use the JD to sterilize the wooden spoon after spanking the monkey. Won't go any nearer to that subject.

On my stuffer ( large Koch ) I can simply put my hand over the end of the stuffer tube and put the handle on the high speed lug and turn it backwards creating a vacume in the tube and it pulls the remaining meat back into the stuffer. Works great and requires minimum of handling. Don't know if will work on smaller stuffers. Give it a try and see if you can pull a slight vacume to pull the meat out.
