Missouri is the Ozarks
I want to thank everyone that has posted pictures and directions. You have inspired me to build my own smoke house but I am not sure if I need to add a vent pipe.

The size is 4x6x6 all out of Oak lumber.

After everything was level we started with a rabbit cut on the boards 1x6 so they will overlap.

Floor down now for the sides 2x3x6 still with the oak, the drill is our new best friend as this stuff is hard.

The plan is to cover the inside with 1x6’s and then cover the out side with 1x6. I ordered the same type of burner that pops used, just not sure if vents will be enough flow or if I need to put in a pipe.

Will post more of the build and if you see that I am doing something wrong please let me know so I can do some changes if I need too. Not sure what I am going to do to the top of the roof.

Sparky, morning.... Great design concept with the shiplap boards.... I do believe that was the common way to construct a smoke house in the days of our mentors... I'm really looking forward to watching this build....  You mentioned a stack.. I think closeable house vents under the eaves would be adequate.... and keep the roof intact to keep out rain might be a thought....

Lots of pictures please..... I love watching a great build....   Dave

We got a little bit done yesterday. The rafters and the roof decking is down

Still thinking we will cover the roof with metal. After this project I am going to need a lot of advice on how to use it.

Sparky, evening...  WOW.. a hip roof.... Very energetic and it adds a touch of professionalism.....  The tax assessor will love it...

We never though about he tax assessor.  Not sure if we can should use something on the out side to seal the boards or not. As you can tell we are just picking what we like from other builds and trying to match what we remember. Ready for the weekend to work on it again.

Looks really good! That's a lot of 1 x 6's!

I wondered the same thing about the intake but the northern tool seems to work real well with a smallish vent. I think my intake is 4 x 8.

I'm a little bit confused here. Are you building some furniture a house in which you will live in.......................BUT no your building a smoker with rabbited joints and all that. Ok this is gonna be one sweet smoker.

The rain and snow stopped so we got to work on the smokehouse

white was on sale

Takes a while to make all those joints

The little hole is for the in-flow vent.

Last board on the outside walls, now we just need to design the door, and finishe the inside. We hope to have it finished for March Madness
