Help on Smoke Hollow Smoker

Hey everyone! New member here so try to not be too rough. I just got a Smoke Hollow PS9900 Grill/Smoker that I am hopefully going to be assembling tonight. It is pretty much my first step into smoking and really evening grilling. We've lived at an apartment for many years and my only option was an electric grill. I've read my things on the smoke hollow grill, and one thing I would like to do is seal up the fire box. I've noticed most posts mention JB Weld, but have seen MANY mixed opinions on this. I realize the best option would be welding, but I don't have access to a welder. I've also seen suggestions on Rutland High temp black, Fire Barrier sealant, and Thermosteel. Just curious of these many options which would be the best route to go?

Also, I will be putting a gasket the lids as well, I liked the idea of the self adhesive FireBlack Black but wasn't sure if the adhesion would be sufficient overtime, would a rope gasket be a better option for this and if so, how do you adhere the rope gasket to the metal?

Thanks, I've searched already what mods everyone does. I guess I was more looking for opinions on which of the many different listed options to seal the Firefox would be the best. It seems like JB Weld is the most mentioned, but then there is always someone that says what they used is better... maybe I'll just follow the masses and use JB Weld.
