I have had this smoker for about 7 months now. Well, we just got a new dog and lets just say he isn't the brightest dog I have had... He chewed off the power cord to the smoker about a week ago. I got a new power cord (12 gauge) for the smoker. Yesterday I attempted to take the paneling off the bottom of the smoker but after drilling out all the rivets it wouldn't budge. Where the legs of the smoker screw in is keeping the panel from coming off. How am I supposed to get this bottom off so I can get to the power cord!? It is almost like they make it impossible to repair this smoker (Masterbuilt told me I would have to buy a new one). I am avoiding this at all cost because I have only used this one twice and I love it.

Any suggestions!?

Thank you!

I tried looking at the back of the smoker but it is completely insulated and I don't want to destroy that. We tried to pry open the bottom (as you can tell in the top right corner) but no budge.

Will the bottom pry up at all between the corners..... or is the bottom totally sealed using some sort of glue....

If it's just the corners....   using a cut off wheel, carefully cut the sheet metal until the bottom is loose ....  maybe at where I marked the red lines...  use self drilling screws to reseal the bottom..  short ones..   and some tape......

I can't tell what is sealing it... I was hoping there was another way inside.

I am questioning why the whole bottom of the smoker needs to be removed.  Why not just the small square plate as shown in the pic?
