So I have some ideas in mind which is why i picked up the steel I did.
I got a 4x8 sheet of 1/4" plate and had it sheared at 69" then rolled into a cylinder with a (you guessed it) 22" diameter X 48" long.

So my big question is this:
If you were building this for personal use (and material wasn't an issue) would you build one cooker 4ft CC? or would you build 2 cookers with a 2ft CC?
I'm wanting to hear any and all ideas for this build, I'll be browsing through some of the more recent builds to see what folks are doing and gather more ideas.
Once I start, it won't take long so follow this thread if your looking for ideas of your own.

You should build it in one 4' section, it will make for a bigger firebox....

You have been known to crawl inside.

Good to know that was a memorable build. I've received alot of comments and questions from that 250 build.
If you search Google Images for "Reverse flow smoker" 2 of my 5 builds appear on the first page of images.Thumbs Up

Seriously, I think the 4' would be easier to flip if you are thinking of selling. There was a guy here recently looking to build a small smoker so there is a market for a smoker for two as well, and you wouldn't have to deal with a trailer setup with a small one. It really is a tough question you have posed....

I may be the guy you are talking about. Will only be cooking for the 2 of us so if I were the OP I would probably cut it in half. I have a 60 gallon compressor tank I will be using for mine....and I think that it is going to be a bit long for my use. Did wish it was bigger in diameter but...

When I decided on the 22" diameter there were a few things that came to mind.
1) I can build the CC and Baffleplate from a single sheet of 4x8
2) I can build the firebox from a second sheet and have approx 30" left over for misc projects I may decide on
3) If the CC door is 25% +1" I will have 2 shelves with 6" clearance between then im thinking my baffle plate will be around the 8" point.

I'm considering boxing the CC door to maximize cooking space. So many decisions ......:30:

myself.. I was wanting a patio sized RF smoker... but when I got a 120 gallon tank at no charge.. well... I guess you know the rest ... but I did want a small one (no trailer) ...

I like that style, the CC radius should not be too hard to pick up and layout and you could estimate CC volume close enough. I think the doors would be tough to get to work good due to the length/hinge load. You would get more meat on there for sure.
