I posted this in the thermometer place too, but I figured it would get more action here. Anywho..

Just as the title says, it's time to get a good therm for my MES 40. Which do you have and what is your opinion?

Just for reference, I am tech savy and have an iPhone. Thanks for your input!!!

Doc I have never used the igrill but have the 733 and it works great. I do like tec gadgets so even with the 733 there might be a igrill in the future. Might be fun to play with.

I've been doing a lot of digging and I really like the features of the iGrill2 over the 733, but the price! Yikes! Especially since they kind of have the market cornered on their device right now. You CAN buy the iGrill2 in a couple different retail stores local to me (Lowes, Brookstone), but they DON'T come with the ambient probe? Just 2 meat probes? And you can ONLY buy the ambient probe directly from them (SUCKS!). The unit it self is $99, plus about $25 for the probe makes it almost twice the cost of the 733.

Decisions, decisions...

Hi dohcholiday! You can use code SMOKE at Checkout for a free Ambient Temperature Probe with the purchase of an iGrill2. Hope this helps. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Please put both the Pro Ambient Temperature Probe and iGrill2 in the cart before entering the code. Let me know if you have any other problems!

Holy crap, I tried it and it worked!!! The code is good. I try these codes all the time and they never work, ORDERED!!! thanks

Wish I had known that before I got mine.  It was on back order at the time I ordered my igrill2 and I wasn't really thinking I needed the ambient probe anyway.  When I did decide to get one they weren't available for the outdoor model and on back order for 24.99.  After some conversation with idevices, I was told I could buy the oven model (which is the exact same thing with a round white probe wrap, rather than the oval black for the outdoor model) for 19.99 and they would send me the black probe wrap for free.  I haven't had the chance to use the ambient probe as of yet, but I am totally happy with the igrill2.
