Hi there!!

I just bought a Master Forge propane smoker from Lowes (Canada) for $148.00 shipped to my door.

I'm attempting to "season" it with hickory wood chips, but after about 20 minutes of good smoke, the tray of ships bursts into flames and the chips are charcoal within 2 minutes.  I lowered the flame (to the minimum setting) but the same thing happens.....

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

If they're bursting into flames it just means that too much O2 is getting to the wood. There are "can mods" you can make that will solve that problem, the wood will smolder vs burn.
