Help before I buy compulsivly!!!!

I want the MES40.

i know i should get the Gen 1 Back control style. But I'm new to electricsmokers and the window seems like the one ill want just so i can peak in but is it worth the extra money or should i just man up and get the solid black unit? Would make me feel more at ease Being able to look at he meat without opening the door.

i know the glass will blur up but again will make me feel at ease seeing it through the glass.

Also can anyone post a link to the lowest priced MES40 Gen 1 with and without glass? Thanks all!

I don't have one but I know a few people with them. I have heard that they like the window so they can see the meat and dont need to open the door and lose the heat. They do have to clean the glass on a regular basis.

Thats what I can offer. Im sure others will chime in.

Ended up getting Gen 1 40 in Chrome door with window. Thanks though!

I have only two things against having the glass door:

1.  You already stated about having to clean it in order to see through into the box.

2.  There is no way that glass door is close to being as well insulated as the solid door.  No experience but I can imagine internal temps will be much more affected by the outside ambient temp.
