Hello,

I trolled on here a while back, trying to get some information about an electric smoker I was looking at.

Now, I thought I'd join and start trying to use that smoker better.  I'm tired of sub par results, so i thought I would see if I could get some better results by joining.

I'm in Minnesota.

I have been smoking meats for years.  I started out with a propane smoker that between me and my parents, we burned out.  Then I got a charcoal smoker that I had been using for a couple years.  I got pretty good results with the charcoal smoker.  I did mostly ribs and tri tips, but also did some hocks and some other things.  I've smoked some birds as well.

I recently got a Boulder Creek Electric smoker from Sams (around Christmas).  I am still learning how to use this thing, but I am not having good results.  On this, I have done Tri tips, ribs and pheasant.

Most of my results have ended up not having a smoke ring, no or very little smoky flavor, and with the ribs, occasionally dry.
