Hello everyone. I'm new to the site & sort of new to smoking. I stumbled upon this site while researching different brands of smokers. I live in Montana and smoking isn't really widespread up here, but I've lived in other parts of the States and try to eat as much good BBQ as I can when I travel. A few years ago my Grandma threw me to the wolves so to speak. She had some family over for a long weekend & on Friday announced that we were having ribs on Saturday night and that I was cooking them... I'd never cooked ribs before in my life. They turned out good, for not having anything as far as specialized equipment, just a regular oven & a propane grill. So, since then, I've made ribs a handful of time each year, and last year I bought a Brinkmann Upright Barrel type electric for $25 at a garage sale... Just to see if I liked it. I did!!! Then it died at the end of the year! I really want to buy a Horizon or build my own just like a Horizon, but I think for the $$$, I'll just get the BTLE from HD. I'm looking forward to learning a lot on here and serving up some tasty meats to my family! I don't know much right now, so I'm open to LOTS of suggestions.
Thanks.
