Hello everyone my name is Cody and I currently live in New Orleans. I've been grilling for quite some time but have recently started smoking. So far I have just smoked a few racks of ribs with great success on my weber kettle grill but I will eventually be getting a smoker. I'm very impressed with everyones pictures of food on this sight and ideas.

Welcome from Slidell!   What is "currently"    Only problem with living down here if you give it a chance you'll fall in love with it.  If you intend to hang around a while we have a group titled  Southeast Louisiana and Southern MS that you should join.  We have a get together at least once a year but I think we are going to try and have a smaller "one day" party this Spring.

See  it this link works.  We just had a SELA gathering in October and the group is just getting started.  Follow the link, join the group, say hi and get to know some of the local guys.  Maybe time for me to start a conversation about a Saturday smoke n March or something.  If you add the group to your subscriptions you can set options on how to be notified when a post is made to the group.

First off welcome to SMF there Cory. Sweet smoker to. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.
