Hey to Ya'll

I'm Jim, from Hartselle Alabama. I am new to the Smoke Ring so if I do anything improper please, please let me know ASAP. I love to cook on my egg, but more than anything I LOVE to make my own homemade charcoal. Nothing more fun than cooking on the egg with charcoal I made myself! My homemade charcoal cooks hotter, longer, and has it's own distinct flavor and smell. If you have any questions about making charcoal send me an email: [email protected]

Thanks for allowing me to join

Jim

Hello Jim, and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.

I use Shagbark Hickory only, there are nine types of hickory wood
and I have use them all but the best for making charcoal is the Shagbark Hickory. Best smoke from the charcoal and by far the best tasting
