I am new to this forum but have been watching it for a while. I am from South West Oklahoma and have been smoking for about one year. I have a propane vertical smoker and an electric vertical smoker. I have a wood burning smoker being built because I think I would prefer to smoke with a wood fire instead of what I have been using. The smoker that I am having built is a 24inch diameter x 36 inch long with a bottom mounted fire box with a diffuser plate below the cooking grate with space for water pans between it and the cooking grate. I am leaving a gap on the side and the front for the smoke and heat to pass through. I have used information gathered on this forum mostly for the building plan.

Welcome to SMF. I also have a propane smoker and an electric smoker and I still use them depending on the size of the meat I'm cooking. I loving using my wood burner but have only been using it lately for really big smokes. The next big smoke is later this month when I'll be smokeing up a bunch of turkeys for me and the neighbors for Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the smoke!

Welcome to SMF. Sounds like you will have a big range of smokers when your stick burner is done. Post some pictures of it when its done.
