Hi everybody, I'm new here but looking to get into the smoker community. I'm from Ireland and to be perfectly honest there's not a great smoker or American style bbq community over here. So if you guys can give me any guidelines or tips to get started it would be great. Looking forward to chatting with you on here. Be good!!

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a sunny cool day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Greetings from an island in the pacific to an island in the atlantic.  If you're looking for an easy way to get started with smoking, start with a bbq grill.  Either propane or charcoal will work.  Basically you put the fire on one side and the food on the other, that's called indirect cooking.  Put some hardwood on the fire so that it smolders and not burn.   Now you're smoking.  This is an over simplified explanation, but if you poke around this site, I'm sure you can get a more detailed description of this technique.  If you have any questions just ask, the only thing people around here like as much as smoking, is talking about smoking. Good luck.
