Hey all, just surfin the web and stumbled on this site. I belong to one quite similar that is about fishing and hunting in Michgan. It is set up just like this one, and I hope to enjoy my spare time here as much as I do on the other site.
I have always been the cook at my house, my wife does some baking, but I generally do all cooking, and have recently( in the last 12-18 months) takin up smoking of tasty meats. I catch alot of salmon and steelhead, so I do like to smoke them. The pork ribs and Butts that I have attempted were decent and tasty, but I am looking forward to learning some helpful tips and techniques from the experts here. I have been lurking for a couple days, but had to register to see some of the nice pics. I hope to make some baby backs on sat before the Michigan, Michigan state game.

Go Blue!

Welcome Capt. Dan, you're on the best smokin' site on the net, SMF that is. There are plenty of great tips and stories from some friendly members, just read around and you'll agree with me. If you have the chance, take some Q Views of the BB from Saturday's smoke. Good luck my friends.

I thought that Kalamazoo was a punchline in old cartoons! Cool, it really exists!

Welcome aboard! My wife is allergic to cooking (at least that is what she tells me) so I am the cook as well.

Welcome to SMF, from Lake Orion MI. And really there are no other similar sites. Have been to some claiming to be smoking sites.. well, they may be that. But this place has the best membership around. Mostly. Except for me. Anyway, sign up for the 5 day ecourse, and enjoy the company!

Dan:

Nice to have you on board. It has already been suggested for you to download the e-course, so you are already getting some good advice. I'm from Oregon and you know that you are catching the brothers and sisters of all those little Salmon we sent you years ago.
