Hello all from Western Wisconsin.  I've been smoking and BBQing for years and am a convert from the BarbequeBible.com forums where I've been for a number of years.  Looking for a change of atmosphere.  Still trying to talk my wife into a dedicated smoker, I've been using a Weber Kettle and Kenmore gas grill for all of my smoking.

I look forward to sharing recipes and tips!

Welcome to SMF!! Lots of good folks and information here...

Welcome OakenMan , glad you joined SMF, you can find all kinds of different smokers here, and even builds of several kinds. Show your wife the info and maybe you can convince her of what you need to turn out that perfect BBQ.

Some say we have an addiction, I say we just love good food. Nothing better than knowing you did it your self.

Lots of good recipes here, and the input from others to help you make the best BBQ.

oh please treat yourself to a smoker!  doesn't have to be new-craigslist and ebay exist for a reason. There are plenty of choices-find out what she is "afraid" of.  Maybe starting with a smaller footprint propane or electric smoker can get her hooked on your good eats, then you can see where you go from there. sorry don't know how this got here twice!
