Hello from Western burbs of Chicago

Hi my name is Ed, I live in Naperville Illinois. I'm not new to grilling I've been heating up grills almost 40 years . I started in 77 with a red Weber, that I just gave to a guy that likes to collect older grills. Stupidity ruled for many of those years as I bought a gas grill sometime in the 80's so I put charcoal on the back burner. A few months ago I got the desire to try my old kettle, discovered new things like the chimney and all the info on the web, so I was back into real fire. My birthday is coming up so I treated my self to a new Akorn grill and love how easy it is to cook on. I really enjoy reading all the info on this site and hope to continue to learn new and tasty things.

About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

Hi Mike my sister lives in your area. As crowded as the Naperville area is getting the wife and I are thinking about going further west when we retire. We like the Sandwich, Big Rock area.
