Hi Everyone,

I've been a lurker for the past 6 months or so, while planning my entry to the smoking lifestyle. I got here by identifying food items and saying "I could probably smoke that" and google kept bringing me back here. I've gleamed a lot of info on meats, methods and tools and am ready to jump in whole hog.

My gas powered GOSM 2-drawer widebody (is there an acronym for that?) got delivered yesterday and I spent a good part of last night putting it together. I figured that was official enough to come and make my first post.

I've slow cooked shoulder and ribs without smoke (Oven & modified grills) with moderate success. I also enjoy making beer based brines and sauces. I'm also a accomplished homebrewer (hence the screen name) and was looking for another hobby that lets me geek out on processes, recipies and tools. Smoking is a great fit.

Here's some other info about me

screenname: Greglovesbeer
Smoker: GOSM - Propane- 2 drawer widebody
Accessories: AMNPS, Q-MATZ, iGrill,
Location: San Francisco Penninsula (San Mateo County)
Weather: Great. No Snow. Rarely over 100

Looking forward to smoke: Chuckies and Fatties to start. Also excited about the wierd stuff. SPAM, Hard boiled eggs, pies.

Thanks again for all the good info. Attached is a pic of the new smoker. I can't wait to get some Qview going.

Cheers,
Greg
