Gentlemen,

My name is Derrick and I am new to the forum.  I found this forum while searching for information that would help me with my home built smoker trailer.  I currently use a small Brinkman cabinet style smoker for my backyard cooking.  I am a police officer and I plan to use the large smoker I am building to cook for large events and raise money to support our yearly "Shop With a Cop" program.  This program is to provide Christmas gifts to children in our city that would not otherwise have Christmas gifts.  I will also use it for family gatherings and other such things.  I am an amateur Blacksmith and enjoy working with metal in my off time as a creative outlet and a stress relief from the worries of the job.  I'm glad to be here and I look forward to participating here.

Welcome Derrick, glad ya joined us ! Shop With A Cop is a great program, we support our local police for that program !   Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a sunny, windy and cold day in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of                    information on just about  everything. Sounds like besides being a Police Officer, you are a very good person too.
