Hello All,

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Todd and I haven't been smoking for very long (1-2 years) and recently upgraded from a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker, to a stick burning New Braunfels. I found an old one on Craigslist and after talking to my much more experienced neighbor he convinced me it was a great deal. Anyways, I'm originally from Houston, TX and am stationed in Washington State. I've been in the Coast Guard for 10 years. Looking forward to picking everyones brains and making contacts.

Hello and good evening from East Texas, welcome to the forum. Lots of great information and real good people here..

Wow! That's the same one I have. I never knew the model name. I love it though. I've had really good luck with pork shoulders and ribs. I'm still nervous to try a brisket. My temps stay fairly constant but after about 6-7 hours I can't keep the fire lit... Not sure what my problem is??? What size wood do you use in yours? I've only used the wood chunks they sell at Home Depot. Glad to meet you though. I was stationed in Michigan for 5 years so Ill be sending you thoughts of warm weather here in a few months
