Hello from Texas

Hello from Spring Texas.  Been reading the forums for about a year now.  I've learned a lot but haven't posted until today.  I've been smoking off and on for the last 20 years but have made more progress in the last 12 months with the help of this forum than I did in the previous 19 years.  I am currently smoking on an electric smoker but have used offsets in the past.  I've smoked butts, briskets, ABT's, chicken, turkey, and recently have tried making elk jerkey with care packages from my park ranger uncle in Colorado.

I hope to be able to contribute more in the future.

. to SMF as you stated there is a GREAT wealth of knowledge here and folks willing to share there knowledge. I can relate to the smoking before coming here. I had been smoking or I thought I had but what I was doing is creating that nasty stale smoke, if I couldn't see whit clouds of smoke I wasn't smoking. I learned the error of my ways and now I turrn out some good Q thanks to the great info here, and the TBS

First off welcome to SMF there Mike. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.
