Hi everyone! looking to purchase a pellet grill and try smoking; only used a gas or charcoal in the past (have not done any smoking before)

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Danny

Hey Noob, welcome to the site, look through the forums and threads, lots of information that may help you decide on what to get.

Thanks Gary, I've looked on here before I just hadn't joined, I'm probably going to get a Cabela's pellet grill in about a month, I like a couple of the features (plus the price will be good)

Welcome!

I'm new at this too, hope to blog you from time to time. I just do things the simple way, I put a hotplate with a cast iron skillet in the bottom of my grill. I have an abundance of mesquite and pecan wood available here. I plan on making a smoker out of an old refrigerator if I can find one that is not all plastic inside.

Welcome, and good smoking!
