Southwest Louisiana
My name is Louis and I live in Southwest Louisiana. I been BBQing for some time and dabbled a little with smoke, but I wanted to have the ability to do more than throw some wood on my charcoal in my bbq pit as an afterthought, so I decided to have a smoker built. As we speak, I am seasoning the inside of it. Here's a photo:

Looking forward to getting started!!

Welcome Louis, Glad to have you with us. This is the place to learn, lots of good info and helpful friendly Members...

That is a nice looking smoker you have there...

Be sure to check out Jeff's 5Day Smoking Basics eCourse, you can find it here it's "FREE"...5 Day e Course

Everyone here enjoys seeing the qview so be sure to post plenty of pics.

welcome to the addiction louis.
Bob here from baton Rouge.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I was hoping there was a great bunch of people here. Also glad to see some members from my home state. As soon as I can I'll get started doing some smoking and posting photos.

Hello there, and welcome to the SMF. You've joined the best place on the planet to enjoy and discuss smoking food!

Very nice smoker you have there, too.

Welcome Louis , glad to have you here at SMF! You will like it here!
I for one sure would like to see other images of your smoker! Inside and Out! Is it run on electric power? I see a wire coming towards it? I'm planning on taking a 250 gal propane tank and using as a slow smoker for hanging hams, fowl and sausage. Yours looks something that I see running in my head if you know what I mean?
Thanks,
Thomas

I'll take some additional photos. I was curing the inside at the time of the photos, so I couldn't do much else. The wire you see is a propane line. I use a modified propane burner and a homemade short stainless steel pot in which I put the wood. I believe it will work, but like I said I'm a newby to this. Learning is part of the fun. I'll get you some more photos soon.

Glad you're with us at the SMF. Looks like your smoker has plenty of room for some smokin' Q.

Here are the requested additional photos. I think I got everything.
