I am searching around to get ideas for building an oil tank pig roaster with a rotisserie.  I've come across a few good ideas here, but am still puzzled about building an inexpensive (Rube Goldberg) type of rotisserie.  Any ideas?

Take your time, and study, you will see a BUNCH of different types of smokers, even some from old oil tanks.  Consider what is right for YOU, and you'll find a lot of ways to prevent making mistakes, and hints to make your perfection.  GOOD LUCK!

Had a good friend when I was in the Army from Camden (Cherryhill actually) and I spent two Christmas days there in Jersey.  Great area lots to do and see.  Welcome to our BBQ world.

Welcome to SMF! Glad to have you with us!

I'm not a builder and there are a lot of them on here, hopefully one will be along to answer your questions.

But I don't think you will be able to build an inexpensive rotisserie rig. Of course I don't know what your budget limitations are,

but there are so many moving parts, elec. motor, chain, racks, bushings, etc., it would certainly add too the overall cost.

You may be better off building a reverse flow.

Glad to have you with us

Lots of build info here

Just use the search tool and you'll find lots of info

Thanks everybody for welcoming me to SMF.  I cut mine like Bearcarver did in his build and am now in the process of figuring out how to construct the lip between the top and bottom half.  Does anybody actually have a set of plans for this type of build.  I wasn't planning on using side boxes on it but that could change.
